Redevelopment projects reach new heights
The future of health care in our region is just around the corner. With every exciting milestone that our many redevelopment projects achieve, Osler is giving patients access to more programs and services, closer to home.
At Peel Memorial, we celebrated the building’s ‘topping off’ – an exciting celebration that marked construction reaching its highest point. With the exterior of the building mostly complete, construction moved inside to shape the spaces that will be home to important clinics, day programs, specialities and classes. When it opens in early 2017, Peel Memorial will be on the cutting edge of health care delivery, helping patients who don’t require an overnight stay in hospital and focusing on helping patients take charge of their health.
Etobicoke General’s expansion project also took great leaps forward. In March, we named Etobicoke Healthcare Partnership as the preferred proponent to lead the redevelopment project, and we are eagerly getting the site ready for the start of construction on the addition and the new Ancillary Services Building.
At Brampton Civic, we completed expansion of the hospital’s Cardiac Procedures Unit. The project reconfigured the unit’s existing area to make room for more recovery space, creating a relaxing, healing environment for patients who have undergone a cardiac procedure or treatment.
Each of these projects is helping Osler to increase access to the care our communities need, right in their own backyards.
